Watched “World Trade Center” today. Actually watching this film was ranked quite low in my priorities…… though I am well aware of the good aclaim the film has. The reason is clear enough – the film is American through and through. One does not need to watch it in order to tell. One just knows it.
Someone would say, “No, there is no Bush talk in there, that is no American propaganda.” Well, someone has forgotten about his/her F.3 World History.
What is an American? What was the Declaration of Independence of the United States about? “World Trade Center” exactly provides a two-fold definition for this American essence. The American is the embodiment of humanity, of fellowship, of love for family, of love for the country. That is John and Will. On the other hand, the American is Justice, defender for and preacher of Liberty and all the American values. That is Karnes. Donna and Allison are the typical American Angels of the House, and the brave Little Women when their men go to war. The children are the typical American children who admire their Father, Hero and Patriot. Everyone are god-fearing Christians who do not seem to realize there are other beliefs in the whole wide world. Everyone are Americans who know of no other country. How can one say this is not American? This is nothing but American.
